I don’t think this November wedding at Hotel Saint Cecilia could’ve been any more perfect. This event was all things intentional, detailed, and unique, and between the beautiful Texas fall weather, the eclectic feel of the property, the intimate gathering of loved ones, and the Astros winning the World Series (couldn’t not include that detail!) it was a dream day, and one that we look back on fondly. Kathrine was an incredible bride to plan with. She had a beautiful vision for her day, but ultimately trusted us with the design, planning, and execution to bring it to life! I can’t wait to share this incredible gallery with you.

Hotel Saint Cecilia is surely one of those bucket list venues for a planner, and for couples, it’s the kind of venue that provides a memorable weekend experience for their wedding guests. Hotel Saint Cecilia is an intimate property tucked away off of South Congress that hosts its guests in a mix bungalows and cottages. The bar and food offerings are out of this world featuring top-notch fare and an expertly curated menu. Whether you’re sitting outside on their piazza terrace or by the fire inside their moody bar, the vibes are immaculate and it’s the kind of spot that gives you a quiet retreat yet a dose of inspiration! From an event perspective, it is the perfect venue for a more intimate gathering and the variety of spaces onsite make for a unique yet seamless flow for your event.

In the case of Kathrine & Trey’s wedding day, they got married on the lawn under the oak tree — which is actually two trees that have grown into one (does better symbolism for marriage exist?) Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktail hour on the Piazza terrace adjacent to the dinner set-up. The reception began with an alfresco dinner under strung lights. Guests were seated at long tables, which promoted a feeling of gathering and intimacy, while they enjoyed a multiple course meal. Loved ones shared words about the newlyweds and toasted to the start of their marriage. Following dinner, we led guests to one of the cottages onsite. There, the couple cut their cake and shared their first dance on the porch, and then enjoyed drinks, music, a dessert bar, and s’mores with their guests. Every space was designed intentionally and the entire event felt intimate and special.

In working at a venue like this one, that differs from a traditional wedding venue in its offerings, we had the opportunity to source tables, chairs, and large furniture pieces. These items have a huge impact on event design, and while most traditional wedding venues provide these rentals, what sets your event a part and creates a more curated, custom wedding is the ability to bring in pieces that really align with the design vision. For Kathrine & Trey’s design, we sourced items that had a vintage, eclectic feel. Incorporating wood, leather, and a number of rich fall tones was important. This balanced the design and didn’t make it feel too moody or too feminine. Loot rentals provided the perfect furniture pieces between the rugs to define the ceremony altar, the long, exposed farmhouse tables and bentwood chairs at the reception, and the vignettes of lounge sets and special furniture pieces throughout. The green fluted bar was a favorite among the rental pieces and blended function and aesthetic while further defining the piazza space. Sourcing unique tabletop pieces and textural linens was important too. All of these items came together to create a curated, eclectic look for the fall season.

This wedding was an event that we won’t soon forget and at a venue that we can’t wait to return to. Trusting brides with really cool design inspiration sets our creative soul on fire and I will never forget the intentionality behind the design and the event structure for this couple. The day was all about celebrating their marriage with those that were most dear to them. In turn, the day felt relaxed, peaceful, and celebratory, and the weekend was one that was memorable for all!
